Yar matey, it seems like only yesterday that the kids were pirating music much to the record industry’s dismay. (record? what’s a record? – now I’m dating myself, not unlike High School – alas)
Back to the piracy thing – CES is in full swing now in Las Vegas and all (a lot? some?) of the tech industries biggish players are gathered to peddle their unnecessary but very shiny new gadgets to the world.
And 44 years ago at CES an exhibitor (DynaSound division of the Data Packaging Corporation), proudly proclaimed about their new blank tape (or casette) “Behold, a tape that would allow “your kid to pirate music off the air and sell it to his friends.””
That does (did?) sound awesome!
Behold, a tape that would allow “your kid to pirate music off the air and sell it to his friends.”
There seem to be gargantuan TVs as usual at this years CES, but where are the hover board skateboards and flying cars? When will the real future arrive?
Real CES item or made up? Take the Quiz!
I mean, come on!
Kids today, what with their loud music and crazy haircuts, back when I was… etc. etc.
