Last night Saturday Night Live (SNL) had a 40th anniversary show. I didn’t see it but thanks to the Interwebs I heard about it, read an article and saw some video on the Youtubes.
I remember loving the show as a kid and my neighbour had something new at the time called a “VCR” so we taped the show and watched it the next day. We were too young (and tired) to see it live in the early days. Even as I got older, I had trouble staying awake for the glorious and always brilliant final sketch.
A sketch I did like as I got a bit older was by a fellow Canadian named Mike Myers. No way! Way!
Bill Simmons of Grantland has a nice write up of the show that you should check out if you were ever a fan of SNL.
Thanks for the memories SNL!
