Cabane a Sucre

We did our own version of sugaring off today with a mega huge breakfast. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, eggs, beans, and pancakes slathered in real Quebec maple syrup. Later, we dipped hot maple syrup in the snow and rolled it on a spoon for “tir sur la neige”. It was delicious.

It may sound odd to a non Canadian and it is wildly clichĂ© to eat a lot of maple syrup but it is a tradition in the spring here in Quebec. As the sap starts to run and the syrup gets made, people go on sleigh rides, have ridiculous meals drenched in syrup and eat maple syrup off the snow. 

It is crazy-crazy delicious!
